Welcome to Ceewrite...
The Island of Portland has been home to Ceewrite Engineering for over 32 years and
engineering has been a corner stone of the economy in the region throughout the
twentieth century.
Ceewrite's engineering skills can be traced back to the Whitehead Torpedo Factory
at Wyke Regis, which in its heyday employed over one thousand people. Many
highly qualified engineering craftsmen have been created with traditional engineering
skills which have been taught through long apprenticeships covering all shop floor
skills.
When, in 1964, the Wye Regis factory closed, four of the top men joined together
to form Ceewrite Engineering Ltd. Their skills have been passed on through the decades
to form the foundation of our engineering competence today. Ceewrite has continued
this tradition of training by developing its work force via an apprenticeship programme.
Our business is located in a modern factory which was purpose built in 1989 and
has a total floor area of over 10000 sq ft.
Ceewrite now employees over 40 people and continues to expand within international
markets. Trading with a blue chip client base of major multi-national corporations
remains a corner stone of our philosophy along with the application of leading edge
technologies and best practice.
In addition to our AS 9100, ISO 9001 and TS 157 quality approvals we have a number
of certificates recognising our training achievements.
Our business management systems utilise the latest computerised technologies which
include:
- Fully Integrated business management system
- Fully operational MRP system
- Integrated accounting
- "Plug an Play" digital telephone system
- "Plug an Play" CAT 5 server based network
